As the Outreach and Publicity Manager with School of Computer Science & Engineering (SCSE) at the Nanyang Technological University, Vasupurath Rekha (MMC’16) communicates extensively with potential students to educate them on the prospects of the programmes.
A 2016 graduate of the Masters programme in WKWSCI, Rekha pursued a part-time postgraduate education, working in the day and studying in the evenings. She said juggling assignments in school and deadlines at work was extremely challenging.
Rekha’s job involves informing students, faculty members and the public on the ongoing activities in SCSE through both print and digital platforms. She thus frequently communicates with the faculty and students about the school’s events and happenings.
“My work can be long, tiring, and even challenging,” said Rekha. “But the satisfaction I feel when my efforts bear fruit over time is what I like the most about my job.”
Her education in WKWSCI enhanced her analytical skills as well as gave her a network of contacts from the communications industry.
“It has definitely given me better insights and identify crucial areas in which I can improve my work,” she said.
