You may have heard Kimberly Wang’s voice on MediaCorp’s 987FM as she hosts a radio programme, “The Happy Ending,” every weeknight.
“A lot of people think we just sit, play music and talk,” says the 24-year-old. “But we also get to jump in on the creative part of things, like scripting and producing a trailer.”
When she first started out on radio four years ago, she worked on a weekend show at 987FM. This stint came after winning a “So You Wanna Be A DJ” competition. She switched to a full-time weekday programme, while still in her last semester in school.
“I appreciate that it allows me to do a little bit of everything,” she adds of her job. “In school, we had advertising modules and public relations; those are skills that I kind of have to use every day in radio.”
