Her journey as an artist began when she was just five years old. To date, Dawn Kwan (CS’20) has completed about 400 paintings. At age 11, she won the Highly Commended Award for the Junior Section, Abstract Category, in the 27th UOB Painting Of The Year Competition.
Over the years, she has held 8 solo art exhibitions, beginning with “Nine” in 2006, and most recently “Synthesis” in August last year.
Kwan contributes to charities, through the proceeds from her exhibitions and art auctions. Some beneficiaries include The New Charis Mission, Heart Foundation and National Cancer Centre Singapore. “I’m still learning to love strangers and people whom I know earnestly and deeply. Perhaps my parents just brought me up with a great focus on compassion and kindness, which also has a lot to do with reflecting what we believe as Christians.”
